Sweet cecily is a beautiful perennial plant with an amazing flower and is a sweet member of the celery family. With its divided feathery foliage it is especially attractive from early spring as it unfolds. As the leaflets mature they gain white markings and are fragrant with the scent of anise and overtones of other aromatics. The frothy white flowerheads appear in late spring and early summer and are much appreciated by the first butterflies.
How To Grow.
Seeds can be direct sown into the ground in summer or autumn. These Seeds needs a period of cold for germination, which is called stratification, to be able to to grow easily from seed.
How Do I Use Sweet Cecily?
The young seed pods of the sweet Cecily plant are edible. They are crunchy and have a sweeet and sour flavour.
